Formation of Chimica company started in 1937 under the name "Astra test station" works being conducted by Directorate Resita plant until 1938, when they were taken by anonymous company "Astra cars, weapons and ammunition Bucharest, romanian first factory of this kind.
Since establishment till now the company has had several names as:
1937-1948, "Astra test station"
At foundation, the basic profile of enterprise was those of special products and an mettalurgy sector required serving to basic profile.
1948–1951, "Plants Tanantul"
After August 23 1944, the problem of change activity object, starting samples at iron oxid installation with commissioning in 1949. Continue to maintain chemical profile, and to diversify the metallurgical sector and as new areas add to enterprise, special sector and plastics precessing departments.
1951–1961, "Chimica Factory no. 14 Orastie"

The action of privatization started in 1995 by MEBO, when it concluded its first contract to purchase shares of FPS - 21% of the stake it, to the Law 71/94. In 1996, the association PAS signed a second sales shares contract with FPS, representing 30%. The third and last stage of the privatization process was in 1996.
During this period more emphasis was laid on refurbishment, being followed gradually replace of existing injection machines with other injection machines of new generation, with superior technical performance. Simultaneously with this action, continued specialization of personnel, equipment section of matriterie with advanced metal processing machines (CNC machines, EDM), computer aided design.
